- Story Text: A team of doctors in the Jammu and Kashmir territory successfully carried out a caesarean-section delivery on Tuesday (March 21) during earthquake tremors.
Video taken by those in the operating room at a sub-district hospital in the Anantnag district, showed doctors performing the surgery whilst their equipment trembled and the lights went out.
Medical officer, Aliya Vaid, said that both the mother and baby are fine.
"We were all present until all the procedures were finished and the whole team gave strength to her," said Vaid.
At least 13 people were killed and more than 90 injured in Pakistan and Afghanistan after a magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck late on Tuesday, government officials said. Tremors were also felt in parts of India, including capital New Delhi.
