- Story Text: Venice Film Festival will celebrate the careers of Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, and Italian director Liliana Cavani with its 2023 Golden Lion award for lifetime achievement.
Earlier this month, Leung, 60, was named best actor at the 2023 Asian Film Awards for his role in the crime thriller "Where the Wind Blows."
He is widely known for his recent appearance in Marvel's "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", as well as being the star of films such as "In the Mood for Love".
Liliana Cavani, 90, directed the 1974 film "The Night Porter", and made her Venice Film Festival debut in the 1960s.
She was awarded the Lion of San Marco in 1965 for her historical documentary “Philippe Pétain: Processo a Vichy," and has since gone on to claim numerous accolades at the film festival.
