- Summary: NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES (MARCH 28, 2023) (REUTERS) ***WARNING: CONTAINS FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY*** VARIOUS OF ACTRESS SHARON STONE POSING FOR PICTURES STONE SPEAKING TO REPORTER (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTRESS, SHARON STONE, SAYING: “I think conditions are improving for women around the world in many ways, and I think they need to improve in many ways, not just for women, but for women and children, just for humanity in general around the world. I think that the more that we take care of each other, the more that we take care of each other. And I think that's really key. I think that’s - when I started working with amfAR over 30 years ago and I was looking at HIV AIDS, the thing that I learned the most from that kind of work, from all the humanitarian work that I've done, is that we have to look at each other more fairly and honestly. And when we see a baby, we all go, Ooh, ooh. And then we start at a certain age, we start having all of these kind of reservations and prejudices about each other and about individuals. And we have to ask ourselves 'why.' At what age, at what height do we learn to hate? And that is really the bigger question. What is wrong with us? When we can love any baby indiscriminately, when do we start saying that that child, if it's a man or a woman or the skin tone does not appeal to us, when do we start becoming cruel?†ACTRESS DANIELLE BROOKS POSING FOR PICTURES (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTRESS, DANIELLE BROOKS, SAYING: (ON RECEIVING THE NATIVE NEW YORKER AWARD) “Yeah. I think this officially makes me a native New Yorker. Like, for the longest, I'm not ever been able to say I'm from New York. But now I feel more confident about saying, like, I'm from New York, being that this is the place I've lived the longest and it's definitely birthed my career in such an incredible ways. So, this is a really cool day.†MORE OF BROOKS POSING FOR PICTURES (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTRESS, DANIELLE BROOKS, SAYING: “I think it is just great. First of all, that is put on by women, you know what I mean? That we are able to celebrate one another in each other's accomplishments and see each other. So, I think that in itself is a major feat.†ACTRESS FREIDA PINTO POSING FOR PICTURES (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTRESS, FREIDA PINTO, SAYING: “I mean, look at today. I think it's definitely so many women coming together. It's definitely a big sign of – I just don’t want to say, improvement. It's a big sign of falling forward, you know, we're just, we’re moving forward. We're falling forward. And there's a lot still needs to be done and there's a lot that is being done. But I think instead of just focusing on, 'are we doing well?' Are we doing good?' Today is really about a celebration that we have done good.†MORE OF ACTRESS FREIDA PINTO POSING FOR PICTURES (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTRESS, FREIDA PINTO, SAYING: (ON BEING A NEW MOM) “I love it. I mean, it's another form of being inspired every day by a tiny little creature. And almost I think that he is pushing me to be more creative and more innovative every day. And so, yeah, he's my little muse as well.†VARIOUS OF DIRECTOR DEBORAH CHOW POSING FOR PICTURES (SOUNDBITE) (English) DIRECTOR, DEBORAH CHOW, SAYING: “You know, some of it, I think, honestly was just luck and timing of being in the right place. You know, I went and I worked on ‘The Mandalorian’, and that was a tremendous experience. But, you know, when we did the show, it was first season, you know, we didn't know what it was going to become. So, you know, I had no idea, you know. The idea that if you told me way back when I was at film school here that eventually I'm going to end up directing Darth Vader, there's no way I would have ever believed it.†PRODUCER AND PRESIDENT, ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS AND SCIENCES, JANET KANG POSING FOR PICTURES ACTRESS CHLOE LEVINE POSING FOR PICTURES AUTHOR AND DISABILITY ADVOCATE XIAN HORN POSING FOR PICTURES ACTRESS SWETA KESWANI POSING FOR PICTURES PAN FROM NYC STREET TO ENTRANCE TO RED CARPET
