- Story Text: Locals in India's Nuh district were distressed on Thursday (August 03) after a curfew has been imposed in the area which was rocked by violent Hindu-Muslim clashes earlier this week.
Residents said they were facing issues in buying essential items as most people have kept their shops closed.
Media reports said the curfew would be relaxed for a few hours for the convenience of the locals in Nuh.
However, an atmosphere of tension prevailed in the city where heavy security was seen deployed to curb any more incidents of violence.
The violence erupted during a religious procession by Hindus in the Muslim-dominated Nuh district on Monday (July 31), resulting in the death of seven people, including two police personnel, and around 60 people were injured.
The unrest also spread to neighbouring Gurugram on Monday night and continued through Tuesday (August 01), with a mosque being set on fire and its cleric killed. Several shops and eateries were vandalized or torched. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
