  • Story Text: In a village in the West Bank, Mayar Ayaydeh is a female riding instructor who goes horseback riding on free trails, a sight not very common within the conservative community near Hebron.
    At a young age, and upon her initial encounter with horses, Mayar overcame her fear and swiftly found the courage to pursue her dream.
    With the support of her older brother, Muntaser Ayaydeh, who owns an equestrian club, Mayar learned everything she needed to know and became a well-known riding instructor, taking the lead role in training other women, girls and children at the club.
    Although horseback riding has traditionally been perceived as male-dominated within their community, Mayar’s persistence in spearheading this role encouraged others around Hebron to train their children, especially girls in mastering the sport.
