- Story Text:Mourners held a funeral procession for a young Palestinian man on Monday (April 15) who was killed during an Israeli army raid on Nablus in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The Palestinian health ministry said a 17-year-old Palestinian, named Yazan Ishtayeh, was killed and three others were injured during the raid.
Spokesperson for Israel's Border Police said that uncover border police troops, together with the Israeli army, operated in Nablus arrested a wanted man. During the activity, there was rioting in which one person threw an explosive device at them (troops) and was shot dead by the undercover unit, he added.
Clashes between Israeli soldiers and settlers and Palestinians have turned deadly. U.N. records show that Israeli forces or settlers have killed hundreds of Palestinians in West Bank since Oct. 7 and Israel has arrested more than 7000 people through continuous raids on West Bank areas.
Palestinians have long aimed to establish an independent state in the territories occupied in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
