- Story Text: A Brazilian world export drive was launched at Abidjan, the Ivory Coast capital on Monday (October 1st).
A Brazilian trade mission of some 50 businessmen and experts representing more than 70 firms, presented an exhibition of Brazilian products at the Hotel Ivory at the start of a five day visit to the Ivory Coast.
The mission was led by Brazilian Assembly member, Adalberto Camargo, and included other government representatives and officials of the Bank of Brazil. Mr Camargo, the first President of the Afro-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, said the object of the exhibition was to acquaint Ivory Coast businessmen with Brazil's products, and her technological capacities.
Ivory Coast businessman, led by their Director General of External Commerce, Mr. Amon Tanoh, were shown the products of various sectors of Brazilian industry, including textiles, metal products, electrical gadgets, shoes, cellulose sheeting, perfumes, tractors and other agricultural machines. They also saw a photographic exhibition, which showed the growth of commercial developments in Brazil, the closest Latin American country to the African continent.
The Brazilian trade mission will present exhibitions in several African countries.
SYNOPSIS: The Hotel Ivoire in the Ivory Coast capital, Abidjan -- the venue for an exhibition of Brazilian products. The exhibition was presented by a Brazilian trade mission as part of a world export drive.
The trade mission included fifty businessmen and experts representing more than seventy Brazilian firms. The products on display ranged from shoes and perfumes to tractors, metal products and electrical gadgets.
The Ivory Coast businessman were led by their Director General of External Commerce, Mr Amon Tanoh. The Brazilian mission was led by Assembly member, Adalberto Camargo, and included officials of the Bank of Brazil
As the closest Latin American country to the African continent, Brazil is looking to the African nations to increase its export figures. The Trade Mission will stage exhibitions in several African capitals. Brazil's main markets at present are Europe and United States.
