- Story Text: European footballer of the year Ronaldinho aims to win it all in a season that he hopes will end with Brazil lifting the 2006 World Cup trohpy in Germany. This week in Paris, he collected the Ballon d'Or, joining a list starting with Stanley Matthews in 1956 and featuring many exceptional players, among them Johan Cruyff, Franz Beckenbauer and Michel Platini. The 25 year-old Barcelona forward described how he was feeling among so many great footballers. "Very well, I am realising a dream. it was a magical night with people from all over the world and great footballers, great personalities, so it was a special night in my life," he told Israeli television ahead of the peace match between Barcelona and a Israeli-Palestianian team. Ronaldinho has been shorlisted for the 2005 FIFA player of the year together with Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o from Cameroon and Chelsea's English midfielder Frank Lampard. Ony Real Madrid's Ronaldo won the prize for two years in succession and Ronaldinho is highly tipped to repeat his compatriot's achievement at the FIFA gala, on December 19. Winning has become a favourite word for a player who can be instrumental to give his country a record sixth World Cup in Germany. "I hope it will be Brazil. We for sure respect all of our rivlas but let's hope Brazil will be again fighting for the title and God willing let's hope we win," he said. Ronaldinho was honoured by his fellow professionals when he won the inaugural FIFPro World Player of the Year trophy in September and was voted best player in last season's Champions League. To lift the European Cup is the next ambition for Ronaldinho, who firmly believes he can contribute to a better world. "I have many dreams. I want to win competitions and make football history. As a person, I want to have a very healthy family. I have a dream of looking at a world full of peace and with people happy. These are my dreams and I try to do my best to make them happy." With his skill and vision, Ronaldo is also hpoing to lead Barcelona to a second Spanish league title in two years.
