Speaking to newsmen after talks with Indian Petroleum and Chemicals Minister Keshav Deva Malaviya, Sheikh Yamani said their discussions covered industrial ventures and co-operation in various fields:

Although neither Minister gave details, it is understood that they discussed long-term supplies of crude oil on easy terms beginning at the end of this year.
Sheikh Yamani's programme during his five-day visit to India also included talks with the Prime Minister, Mrs Indira Ghandhi. Officials said that Sheikh Yamani's meeting with Mrs Ghandhi had revealed great understanding between the two countries. The talks were described as very useful.
