- Story Text: King Khalid of Saudi Arabia arrived in Khartoum, capital of Sudan, on Saturday (30 October) at the start of a four day state visit.
SYNOPSIS: The king had flown from Cairo, Egypt, where he had attended the Arab Summit meeting on the situation in Lebanon. He was greeted at Khartoum Airport by Sudan's President Ja'afar Mohammed al-Nimeiry, and the Vice President and Prime Minister, Mr. El-Rasheed al-Tahir Bakr. During his visit, king khalid is expected to have talks on economic, political and military co-operation with Sudan.
At the Arab Summit meeting, Sudan and Saudi Arabia were two of he countries to pledge increased troop contributions for the Arab force in Lebanon.
