- Story Text: Harley Davidson bikers from around the world took to the roads in Jordan on Saturday in the kingdon's first ever Harley Davidson rally, taking in the natural beauty and tourist spots, including Petra and the Dead Sea.
Nearly 200 bikers from the Middle East, Europe and the US got behind the handlebars of their polished bikes as they cruised across the kingdom in a three day road trip.
The breathtaking scenery of Wadi Rum was the backdrop for one road trip, as engines roared on the desert road linking the port city of Aqaba to Wadi Rum, one of the best kept secrets of this desert kingdom.
"Jordan has always been known to be a beautiful touristic destination, but also, to add biking to the beautiful scenery is something very, very special. Driving through Wadi Rum is an experience on its own", said organizer Zaid Quar.
Egyptian biker Kareem Eid said he enjoyed the entire experience of riding across Jordan's beatiful places.
"I love Petra, the curves on the mountains [are] beautiful. The scenery is amazing. I guess it's one of the best tours I ever rode on."
Motorcycling is relatively new to Jordan, as the government only recently allowed motorbike dealerships to open in the aftermath of worldwide increase in fuel prices.
Previously, only influential figures, including members of the royal family, were seen behind the handles of Harley Davidson bikes. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
