(SOUNDBITE) (English) COULTHARD SAYING: "Well, it was difficult having him breathing down my neck for the most of the laps at the end of the Grand Prix, but I think that adds to the satisfaction of actually winning the Grand Prix, because, you know, Mike was clearly an outstanding driver of his time, has won more Grand Prix than anyone else. You know, I have the basic confidence that I can beat him, and it's great to be able to go out and prove that in such a prestigious event as the Monaco Grand Prix." 3. SHOT OF BILLBOARD 4. (SOUNDBITE) (English) COULTHARD SAYING: "It's a track that we've gone well at in the past, but I think that our performance this season hasn't really particularly suited that type of track. So it may be a bit of a compromise this season. Nonetheless we love the whole event there, and it's, you know, clearly the goal is we go there to win, but if you can enjoy the venue that you're actually racing at as well that makes a big difference. So this is a great period for Formula One, coming off the back of Monte Carlo, coming to Montreal, obviously coming in through New York, it's a very exciting time for us all." 5. - Story Text: Fresh off the track from his win at the Monaco Grand
Prix, Formula One driver David Coulthard made a brief pit stop
in New York City on his way to the Canadian Grand Prix. While
in the city, he unveiled a 4-story TAG Heuer billboard
featuring his image, discussed his win in Monaco and his
preparations for the Montreal race.
After his win at the Monaco Grand Prix, Formula One
driver David Coulthard stopped in New York City on his way to
the Canadian Grand Prix. While there, he unveiled a 4-story
TAG Heuer billboard bearing his image.
He discussed the satisfaction of winning in Monaco against
four-time world champion Michael Schumacher. Coulthard said,
"Mike was clearly an outstanding driver of his time, has won
more Grand Prix than anyone else. You know, I have the basic
confidence that I can beat him, and it's great to be able to
go out and prove that in such a prestigious event as the
Monaco Grand Prix."
Coulthard, lead driver for the McLaren Mercedes F1 Team,
will again be put to the test this weekend as he takes on the
Montreal track. Coulthard worries, however, that the Canadian
Grand Prix may not be a smooth ride.
"It's a track that we've gone well at in the past, but I
think that our performance this season hasn't really
particularly suited that type of track. So it may be a bit of
a compromise this season."
The glory is on Coulthard's side for the moment, but only
time will tell for how long. The Canadian Grand Prix begins on
June 7.
Swiss Watchmaker Tag Heuer is the Official Timekeeper of
Formula One and a corporate partner of the McLaren Mercedes F1
Team. The four-story billboard, Tag Heuer's largest in the
world, is part of its new ad campaign.
