- Story Text: Pop diva Mariah Carey unveils songs from the latest album ahead of the rest of the world at live show in Tokyo.
Wearing red satin dress, pop diva Mariah Carey sang two songs from her latest album for Japanese fans on Thursday (March 31) in a Tokyo's popular building architectural phenomenons combined trendy shops and business office.
Carey, the best-selling female artist of all time, arrived in Tokyo on Monday (March 28) for five-day visit to promote her latest album called "The Emancipation Of Mimi,"
which was released in Japan on Wednesday (March 30) ahead of the United States and the rest of the world.
Carey wrote and co-produced every song on the album, which features guest appearances by superstar artists Snoop Dogg, Nelly and Twista, and features production by The Neptunes, Kanye West and Jermaine Dupri.
What it's called "the secretly live" was planned just before Carey's arrival in Tokyo at the expense of 100 million yen (U.S. dollar 9345,579) at Carey's request as she wanted to deepen the relationship with her fans in Japan.
Carey sang "It's Like That" and "We Belong Together"
from the latest album, which was released for the first time in two and half years.
Asked how she spent all these years, Carey said she just concentrated making her album.
"I've being.. I was on tour and I was making an album for and year and a half year. I took very long time making this record because I wanted to make as good as I possibly could. There are two special tracks just for Japan, so that's all. That's what I've being doing, just working in a studio, enjoying myself my record,"Carey said.
About one thousand of lucky fans who won the tickets for the live on the mobile phones, seemed to have enjoyed the rare opportunity.
"She was so beautiful and she was so good at singing.
She was very beautiful far more than I saw her in magazines,"said Azusa Miyazaki, 11.
"She was so pretty but it would have being great if she could sing for us a bit longer," said Kazuki Kawamura, 19.
