- Story Text: Donning hues of silver, gold, and black, models wearing Indian Couturier Suneet Varma, showcased timelessness as they strode through the Fashion Connect runway in Mumbai on Wednesday (March 12).
Paying homage to his poetess mother who recently passed away, Varma named his collection 'Nazm', which translates to 'a free verse' in Urdu poetry.
To add a personal and sentimental touch, he began the show with a recital of the last couplet written by his mother.
Varma launched the show with sparkling sets of 'Shararas', and embellished ivory 'Saris' and 'Lehengas' (traditional Indian attires).
Additionally, he paired the traditional outfits with regal accoutrements including unique, embroidered hair attachments.
Moving away from the conventional 'Kurtas' and three piece suits for men, Varma made his male models walk the ramp in bedazzling pastel 'Shervanis' (traditional Indian attire for men).
At the end of the show, Varma announced that the display of his lavish collection was a prelude to his grand flagship store opening soon in Mumbai.
