- Story Text: Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was at Manhattan state court for a pre-trial hearing in New York on Wednesday (March 12).
The hearing, before Judge Curtis Farber, focused on key legal issues that will shape the proceedings, including expert testimony, accuser statements, and evidentiary restrictions.
Weinstein is set to face a new trial on sexual assault charges in New York on April 15, as the disgraced Hollywood mogul and convicted rapist faces new charges for allegedly assaulting an unnamed woman in 2006.
A New York jury convicted Weinstein of sexual assault and rape in 2020, but an appeals court threw out the conviction and ordered a new trial in 2024. Weinstein was also convicted of rape in California in 2022 and sentenced to 16 years in prison.
