- Story Text: Aston Villa forward Marcus Rashford and Ajax Amsterdam's Jordan Henderson were brought back into the England squad by new manager Thomas Tuchel on Friday (March 14) for World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia.
Rashford's last appearance for England came in March last year in a friendly against Brazil. Henderson, 34, last played for England in November 2023.
Among those left out were Villa forward Ollie Watkins, who picked up a knock in their win over Club Brugge on Wednesday, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will also miss Liverpool's League Cup final against Newcastle United with injury.
Rashford, 27, joined Villa in January on loan from Manchester United and has registered four assists in nine appearances for the Birmingham club.
Rashford has won 60 England caps and scored eight goals, but his international prospects faded under previous England manager Gareth Southgate after a dip in form at Manchester United.
Newcastle defender Dan Burn and Arsenal midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly could win their first caps after receiving their first England call-ups in Tuchel's first squad as England manager.
The 18-year-old academy product Lewis-Skelly has impressed in his breakthrough season at Arsenal, featuring in 13 league and six Champions League games, while the 32-year-old and ever reliable Burn has made 35 appearances for Newcastle.
Burn played for Newcastle as a youngster, followed by a climb through the footballing pyramid, including at non-league side Blyth Spartans and sixth-tier club Darlington.
