- Story Text: Members of the Kurdish Red Crescent in Qamishli prepared on Monday (March 17) humanitarian aid boxes provided by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and the Kurdish Red Crescent, to be transported to Syria's coastal areas following recent violence.
According to Shireen Khalil, an official at the Kurdish Red Crescent, approximately 10,000 baskets were sent in five trucks to Syria's coastal region.
Several days of violent clashes in Syria's coastal region this month pitted loyalists of deposed President Bashar al-Assad against the country's new Islamist rulers. A war monitoring group said more than 1,000 people had been killed.
