- Story Text: Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said on Thursday (March 13) that a proposed 30-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia would "give nothing" to Russia.
"A 30-day temporary ceasefire. Well, what does it give us? It gives us nothing. It only gives the Ukrainians an opportunity to regroup, gain strength and, to continue the same thing," Ushakov told Russian media.
Trump's Middle East special envoy Steve Witkoff arrived in Moscow on Thursday (March 13) to meet Russian president Vladimir Putin. Russian officials said U.S. National Security Adviser Mike Waltz had provided details on the ceasefire idea on Wednesday (March 12) and Russia was ready to discuss it.
Trump had said in the White House on Wednesday (March 12) that he hoped the Kremlin would agree to the U.S. proposal for a 30-day ceasefire that Ukraine said it would support. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
