- Story Text: One person is in custody following a hours-long standoff outside the headquarters of the CIA in Langley, Virginia on Wednesday (March 19).
Video images showed officials escorting a long-haired man in handcuffs towards an ambulance. In a post on social media website, X, Fairfax County police said the suspect had surrendered to negotiators and was in custody.
A heavy security presence was seen in the area for most of the day as SWAT teams and armed officials gathered outside the CIA headquarters. In an earlier post, Fairfax County police described the unfolding scene outside the building complex as a "barricade event".
There were no confirmed reports of gunfire, but various local news outlets reported the presence of an armed man at the entrance gates of CIA headquarters.
