- Story Text:This year's spring got off for a flying start in Germany with sun and warmer temperatures across the country.
People were out and about in the sun on Friday (March 21), strolling in parks, chatting in Cafe's and enjoying the first signs of the spring season. In Munich, locals gathered on the banks of the River Isar or sunbathed in the city centre.
"The mood is definitely getting better and better the warmer it gets," said resident Camilla Hitzler. Others echoed her sentiments, with David Eckhardt attributing his improved mood to the increased production of vitamin D from sun exposure, and Steffen Bausch noting a rise in his spirits.
In Griesheim, asparagus farm manager Bodo Moenich celebrated the first harvest of the year. "This is the first asparagus of the year, right now. And then, of course, as an asparagus farmer, you feel good because it's starting again. It's always a demanding season. But of course, we wait for it and we also make our living from it," Moenich said.
