  • Story Text: U.S. officials are due to meet negotiators from Russia in Saudi Arabia on Monday (March 24) to discuss the details of a proposed 30-day ceasefire on strikes on energy infrastructure, as well as a longer-term peace deal.
    Preceding the Russia meeting, Ukrainian and the U.S. delegations had discussed on Sunday (March 23) proposals to protect energy facilities and critical infrastructure, Ukraine's defense minister said.
    U.S. President Donald Trump spoke last week with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to push his effort to end the three-year war in Ukraine.
