- Story Text:The historic city center of Tunis pulsed with life as the Quatuor Stambeli Troupe performed at the National Heritage Institute, as part of the ‘Medina of Lights’ festival.
Spanning over a week, the festival included musical performances, seminars, art workshops and other events to provide Tunisian families and tourists a space to enjoy cultural activities during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to Hedi Chouria, executive director of Destination Management Organisation (DMO) Tunis Carthage, the goal of the festival is "to revitalize tourism” and introduce the old city from a “different perspective” through varied programming.
The initiative featured its fourth edition this year and takes advantage of the authenticity of the old city which gets busier than usual during the month of Ramadan when Tunisians from different parts of the country visit to buy clothes and food for upcoming Eid celebrations.
