Seth Rogen and the cast of his new show “The Studio” hit the red carpet at New York’s Paley Center for Media on Thursday (March 27) to celebrate the show's launch.
Rogen along with actors Chase Sui Wonders, Ike Barinholtz and Kathryn Hahn participated in the museum’s PaleyLive series which allows fans to interact with their favourite entertainment personalities.
Rogen co-created the show and serves as executive producer, director, writer and portrays Matt Remick, the fresh-faced head of the beleaguered Continental Studios in "The Studio".
As Continental Studios grapples with the ongoing struggle of keeping cinema alive, Remick and his team of executives must confront their own insecurities. They navigate an industry populated by self-absorbed artists and profit-driven corporate magnates, in a ceaseless quest to produce quality films.
The first two episodes of the show premiered on Apple TV + on Wednesday (March 26) and received mainly positive reviews.
On the red-carpet, Rogen said he is proud that his hard work is paying off.
“We've probably been working on it for two and a half years, maybe at this point, around that, maybe three years ago around is when we first came up with the idea. We shot the show a year ago, and so it feels great. I'm so, I’m very proud of it. I think it's, you know, creatively really represents what I was hoping to put out into the world. And whenever I'm able to do that, I, I feel I feel better than when I can't,” explained Rogen.
“It's always lovely when people who do this for a living react positively to you. So it's, it's always nice,” said Barinholtz.
“I can't believe, I mean, I can, but it's nice when you feel certain way about a show. And so far a lot of the rest of the world feels the same way. It's exciting,” said Wonders.
"The Studio" boasts a star-studded ensemble cast that also includes Emmy, Screen Actors Guild (SAG), and Golden Globe Award winner, Catherine O'Hara.
The show will also feature cameos from major A-listers including Adam Scott, Zoë Kravitz and Martin Scorsese. For season two, Rogen hopes to land action star Vin Diesel.
“He's just such a specific figure in Hollywood I feel like. I'm a big fan of his. I love the ‘Fast and Furious’ films, and I think it would be fun to work with him,” said Rogen.
New episodes of the show will be released every Wednesday until the May 21 finale.
