- Story Text:French footballer Kylian Mbappe came face to face with his new waxwork double earlier this year in Madrid, saying "that's me", before thanking Madame Tussauds staff for the "honour".
The figure holds the 26-year-old Real Madrid forward's signature arms-crossed celebration pose and is dressed in France's national team away kit, complete with shin pads and captain's armband, all donated by Mbappe himself from UEFA Euro 2024.
The France captain, who has 86 caps for his country, has another wax figure in Madame Tussauds Berlin.
The latest one goes on display at the London attraction from Friday (April 4).
Madame Tussauds London said from that date until Monday (April 21), any young fan under 16 years old wearing an official Mbappe football jersey to its London wax museum -- either for the French national team, Real Madrid, PSG or Monaco -- will get a free entry ticket.
Mbappe said now "people can see me in London" and "it's going to be fun to have myself there."
The player said he loves to visit the UK capital and dine out in its restaurants, as "it's one of the best cities in the world."
Born in the Paris suburbs, the French soccer player is often hailed as one of the best footballers of his time, known for his dribbling and speed.
Mbappe led France to World Cup victory in 2018 at the age of 19, becoming the second teenager, after Pele, to score in a World Cup final and the youngest French goalscorer in the history of the tournament.
In 2022, when France placed second behind Argentina, Mbappe was named all-time top scorer in a single World Cup final thanks to his hat-trick.
Appointed new captain of the France team for the UEFA Euro 2024, Mbappe returned to the position this month for France's Nations League quarter-final matches against Croatia.
