- Story Text: Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Tuesday (March 25) that the U.S. and Ukraine agreed "there can be a maritime ceasefire" with Russia after talks with the U.S. in Saudi Arabia.
"It doesn't say in the statement what happens if someone violates (the agreements)," the leader told reporters, "because the American side really wanted all this not to fall apart."
Both countries said they would rely on Washington to enforce the deals.
Trump is pressing both sides to bring a swift end to the war, a goal he promised to achieve when he ran for president last year.
At the same time he is pursuing a rapid rapprochement with Russia that Washington and Moscow say could lead to lucrative business opportunities.
