- Story Text:The European Union's top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, visited the Holocaust Remembrance centre in Jerusalem on Monday (March 24) during her trip to Israel amid the renewed fighting in Gaza.
Kallas, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, toured the Hall of Names and laid a wreath at the Hall of Remembrance.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar accompanied her and they both addressed the fight against antisemitism in their statements to the media.
A sharp rise in antisemitic incidents in Europe followed the break out of the war in Gaza in October 2023, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) said in a report released in July 2024.
