- Story Text: U.S. President Donald Trump’s 25% import tax imposed on vehicles not built in the United States will lead to a “massive price hike” for American consumers, Germany’s outgoing foreign minister said in Berlin on Thursday (March 27).
Annalena Baerbock in answer to a reporter’s question said the European Union with its 450 million people, “the largest single market in the world,” would “protect our industry and our jobs.”
“The (EU) Commission will take countermeasures.”
Baerbock was speaking alongside her Estonian counterpart after a meeting which focused on the war in Ukraine.
