- Story Text: German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Thursday (March 27) Russia was “currently not interested in real peace” and that lifting sanctions against Moscow at this time would be a "serious mistake."
Speaking in Paris at a meeting of European leaders supporting Ukraine, Scholz said it made "no sense at all to end the sanctions until peace has actually been achieved."
"Unfortunately, we are still a long way from that," he added.
