- Story Text:Muslims gathered at Jerusalem's al-Aqsa mosque on Wednesday night (March 26) to hold prayers overnight to mark Laylat al-Qadr.
For many Muslims, Ramadan - and especially Laylat Al-Qadr, or the Night of Power - is an opportunity to enhance one's willpower and begin a journey of spiritual growth through prayers.
It commemorates the night that the prophet Mohammed is believed to have received the first verses of the Koran.
While the exact timing of that night is unknown, it is believed to have most likely fallen on the 27th night of the Muslim month of Ramadan.
