- Story Text:Millions of Indonesian Muslims are leaving the capital city of Jakarta back home ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Thousands of cars were seen queuing at a toll booth in Cikampek, designated for one-way traffic out of Jakarta to avoid traffic jams on Thursday (March 27), as vehicle volumes are expected to increase in the coming days.
Jakarta's Pasar Senen train station, a major hub connecting cities across Java, has seen a 10% surge in train trips this year compared to last year, according to KAI, Indonesia's national rail company.
Around 146 million people across the nation were expected to travel during the weeklong holiday this year, about 24% lower compared to the same period last year, the Ministry of Transportation said.
