- Story Text:"I have never experienced something like this", a German tourist recalled the moment of terror when tremors of Myanmar's earthquake were felt in Bangkok on Friday (March 28).
Jonathan said that he was very scared because everything around him started shaking.
An Indian who has been living in Myanmar for the past seven months, Vinay Kumar Yadav, said that a giant cloud of smoke rose when the building collapsed in the capital city.
Meanwhile, rescue operations continued on Saturday (March 29).
Excavators removed debris as teams of rescue personnel engage in operations to extricate survivors.
Relief services were also being carried out at the site as volunteers were seen sorting and distributing water bottles.
Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said during a news conference that the situation in the country had "returned to normalcy", but reported eight deaths.
The death toll from the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that hit Myanmar on Friday (March 28) has climbed to at least 1,002, Myanmar's state-run MRTV said on Saturday, adding that 2,376 people were injured and 30 still missing. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
