- Story Text: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the Tel Aviv District Court on Monday (March 31) to testify in his long-running corruption trial.
Netanyahu has been ordered to testify in the 2019 indictment in three cases involving gifts from millionaire friends and allegedly seeking regulatory favours for media tycoons in return for favourable news coverage.
His testimony takes place after repeated pleas to dismiss him from his weekly testimony, on grounds of an unstable security situation in Israel, after resuming of fighting in Gaza.
He has denied any wrongdoing and has pleaded not guilty.
Netanyahu, 75, is Israel's first sitting prime minister to be charged with a crime.
