  • Story Text: Buildings in Myanmar's second largest city Mandalay collapsed after a powerful earthquake rocked Southeast Asia on Friday (March 28) video footage showed.
    The epicentre of the quake was about 17 km (10.5 miles) from Mandalay, which has a population of about 1.5 million.
    Several people have so far been reported killed in the town of Taungoo in Myanmar and the earthquake caused extensive damage in both Myanmar and neighbouring Thailand.
    Thailand's defence minister said rescuers were searching for 81 people trapped in the rubble of a skyscraper in Bangkok that was under construction and collapsed into a pile of rubble.
