- Story Text: Muslim worshippers attended the last Friday prayers of Ramadan in Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque on Friday (March 28), as the end of the holy month of Ramadan drew near.
The prayers were held under heightened Israeli security and ended with no 'unusual events', Israeli police said.
The Al-Aqsa mosque lies at the heart of Jerusalem's Old City and is the third-holiest shrine to Muslims.
The compound lies on a hill known to Jews as Har ha-Bayit, or Temple Mount, and to Muslims internationally as al-Haram al-Sharif, or The Noble Sanctuary.
