- Story Text: The president of Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally (RN) party Jordan Bardella left party headquarters on Monday (March 31).
He and Le Pen spent the whole afternoon in the building, after a court handed down a guilty verdict in Le Pen's trial for misuse of EU funds resulting in a five year ban on running for public office, ruling her out of the next presidential race.
The French court's ruling was a catastrophic setback for Le Pen, 56. The National Rally (RN) party chief is one of the most prominent figures of the European far right, and a front-runner in polls for France's 2027 contest.
