- Story Text: Russians interviewed in central Moscow by Reuters on Monday (March 31) seemed not inclined to dramatise situation after U.S. President Donald Trump said he was "very angry" and "pissed of" with Vladimir Putin due to lack of significant progress in striking a peace deal over Ukraine in weaks of attempted negotiations.
Mikhail who declined to give his second name described Trump as rather a businessman than a politician who says very different things for and off the record. Although he is saddened by daily casualties on the battlefields, he thinks that the only guarantee if peace is a "strong Russia."
Arina said she was a pro-Putin person and share's Russian president's stance that there is no need to hurry. She understands why the Americans want "big steps and results." This is good for Trumps who is eager to demonstrate how actively he is seeking peace.
Vladimir vaguely quotes George Carlin, a late American stand-up-comedian and author who once said “When you're born into this world, you're given a ticket to the freak show. If you're born in America you get a front row seat.”
Trump told NBC News on Sunday he was very angry after the Russian president last week criticized the credibility of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's leadership, the television network reported.
Trump said he would be forced to impose secondary tariffs of 25% to 50% on buyers of Russian oil if he felt Moscow was blocking his efforts to end the war in Ukraine. China and India are big buyers of Russian oil. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
