- Story Text: Mosques around Dubai dressed up with lights, colours and shapes this Ramadan as part of the ‘Ramadan In Dubai’ campaign.
The initiative, which involves four mosques around the Emirati city - Jumeirah Grand Mosque, Al Khawaneej Mosque, Sheikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Mosque and Zabeel Grand Mosque - projects patterns reflecting Islamic artistic and cultural heritage on their facades.
Mahra Al-Youha, a member of the organizing committee of the campaign, told Reuters that the installations on the mosques’ facades are part of a wider initiative aimed to highlight Dubai’s roads, buildings and landmarks during the holy month with a combination of lights and art that would reflect the country’s Islamic tradition and, at the same time, its modern soul.
Worshippers and visitors expressed their enthusiasm about the light show, saying it enhances Ramadan’s atmosphere and provides the world with a picture of Dubai’s soul and heritage.
