- Story Text: Work crews in Texas began the long task of removing piles of debris after historic flash floods left at least 67 people dead in central Texas, including 21 children.
The floods struck after heavy rains early on July 4th triggered a sudden surge on the Guadalupe River, sending water rushing through Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp for girls, in Kerr County.
The storm caused widespread flooding elsewhere, including in Center Point, 55 miles northwest of San Antonio, Texas, where search and rescue operations continued Sunday as cleanup got underway.
