- Story Text:Around 17 thousand tones of uncollected waste filled the streets of Britain's second city as rubbish collectors went on strike, the Birmingham City Council said on Monday (March 31).
Reuters footage showed dozens of garbage trucks parked in a council depot, and piles of rubbish on streets across the city.
As the union strike action that began on March 11 continues, the city council declared it a major incident.
