- Story Text: Mexico should not ‘get carried away’ thinking they’ll be exempted from any future tariffs imposed by the U.S. government of President Donald Trump, an analyst said on Thursday (April 3).
“We don't know for how long - the president of the United States - will think Mexico and Canada complies with issues related to drug trafficking, migration and especially the fight against fentanyl,” economic analyst Roberto Aguilar said.
Canada and Mexico, the largest U.S. trading partners, were not hit with targeted tariffs made public by Trump on Wednesday (April 3), but they already face 25% tariffs on many goods and now face a separate set of tariffs on auto imports.
On the streets of Mexico City, residents seemed satisfied with their government’s performance while negotiating with the U.S.
