- Story Text:Israeli protesters clashed with police on Thursday (April 3) evening, during an anti-government demonstration outside the headquarters of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party in Tel Aviv.
The demonstration was attended by various groups including relatives of hostages held by Hamas.
Some protesters had marched from the Hungarian embassy in Tel Aviv, denouncing Netanyahu's state visit to the European country that began on Thursday, a rare trip abroad in defiance of an ICC arrest warrant.
The scuffles on Thursday come amid a rise in demonstrations across the country and increasing discontent with Netanyahu's cabinet after bombings on Gaza resumed and an attempt to remove Shin Bet head Ronen Bar who has presided over the investigation into possible ties between Qatar and three of Netanyahu's aides.
Israel resumed the war against Hamas in Gaza on March 18, after a two-months of relative calm under a truce deal that saw the return from Hamas captivity of 33 Israeli hostages, alive and deceased. Fifty-nine hostages are still held in Gaza, 24 of whom are believed to be alive.
