  • Story Text: South Korea protesters - for and against President Yoon Suk Yeol - held separate rallies on Friday (April 4) morning in central Seoul as the Constitutional Court is set to rule on Yoon's impeachment.
    Hundreds of pro-Yoon protesters were seen at a rally near the presidential residence, waving South Korean and U.S. national flags in support of Yoon.
    Meanwhile, hundreds of anti-Yoon protesters held their own rally near the Constitutional Court, demanding the court to maintain the impeachment.
    The court will decide whether to remove or reinstate Yoon as president, over his short-lived martial law declaration that sparked a crisis in the country.
    Yoon's fate has been hanging in the balance after the court defied expectations of a swift decision on whether to oust him for violating his constitutional duty or reinstate him, instead deliberating for more than five weeks in tight secrecy.
    The court is scheduled to deliver its ruling at 11 a.m. (0200 GMT) in a nationally televised session.
