- Story Text: U.S. rocker Bruce Springsteen said on Thursday (April 3) he would to release seven previously-unheard albums in June, with the music dating from 1983 up until 2018.
"Tracks II: The Lost Albums" will feature 82 previously unreleased songs, of which 74 have never been heard before.
"'The Lost Albums' were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released," Springsteen, 75, said in a statement on his website.
"I’ve played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them."
The records include "LA Garage Sessions 83" as well "Streets of Philadelphia Sessions". Springsteen won an Oscar for the song "Streets of Philadelphia" from the 1993 film "Philadelphia".
There will also be 100-page book "featuring rare archival photos, liner notes on each lost album from essayist Erik Flannigan and a personal introduction on the project from Springsteen" with the physical release, scheduled for June 27.
A selection of 20 songs from across the collection called “Lost And Found: Selections from The Lost Albums” will also be released.
Springsteen, whose recording career spans more than 50 years starting with the release of his 1973 debut album "Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.", has sold more than 140 million records worldwide.
The New Jersey native, nicknamed "The Boss", has picked up numerous accolades including 20 Grammy Awards. The "Born in the U.S.A." and "The River" singer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
