- Story Text:Britain's King Charles and Queen Camilla will celebrate their twentieth wedding anniversary on a state visit to Italy on Monday (April 7).
Camilla Shand reportedly met then-Prince Charles in 1971. They were married in 2005 in a civil ceremony in Windsor and then spent their honeymoon in Birkhall in Scotland.
Both Camilla and Charles were married previously - Camilla to cavalry officer, Andrew Parker Bowles, and Charles to the popular, glamorous Princess Diana who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
Charles and Diana had separated in 1992 and divorced in 1996. Diana had blamed Camilla for wrecking her marriage.
Camilla and Andrew divorced in 1995.
When Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's longest-reigning monarch and the nation's figurehead for seven decades, died in 2022, Charles automatically became king and Camilla became Queen Consort.
Charles and Camilla were also supposed to visit the Vatican on their trip however it has been postponed because of medical advice that suggested Pope Francis would benefit from an extended period of rest, Buckingham Palace has said.
