- Story Text: Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said his side must be ‘optimistic’ ahead of the end of the season and believes they can add their trophy haul in the coming months.
Real, who are three points behind LaLiga leaders Barcelona, face Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals on April 8 and 16, and also have a Copa del Rey final against Barca to come.
Ancelotti said Spanish goalkeeper Fran Gonzalez might make his debut against Valencia this weekend, with Thibuat Courtois and Andriy Lunin potentially unavailable.
Asked about his recent appearance on court for tax evasion trial, Ancelotti said it was 'a new experience'.
The Real Madrid coach told a Spanish court on Wednesday he believed his tax affairs were legal as he testified in a trial in which he is accused of failing to pay 1 million euros ($1.08 million) tax on image rights revenue.
The prosecutor is seeking a prison term of four years and nine months for Ancelotti and a fine of 3.2 million euros for two counts of tax evasion in 2014 and 2015.
