- Story Text: After taking the salute from police ???adets during a passing-out parade at the Police Depot in Accra on Friday (5 January), Head-of-Stats, Colonel Acheampong, warned against hoarders, profiteers and smugglers.
The Chairman of the National Redemption Council of Ghana was addressing officer-???dets at the Depot's Twelfth annual passing-out parade.
Forty-seven men and two women graduated on Friday, with the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police. Before the founding of the Police College ten years ago, all Ghana's police officers were trained aborad.
After reviewing the parade and taking the salute, Colonel Acheampong presented the sword of honour to the Best Cadet, Mr. Kwosi Botchway. Mr. Botchway had gained eighty-seven percent marks in his final examination.
SYNOPSIS: At Accra Police Depot in Ghana on Friday, forty-nine police cadets paraded during the Depot's Twelfth passing-out ceremony. Taking the salute was Head-of-State Colonel Acheampong.
Cadet's families watched as Colonel Acheampong presented the sword of honour to the Best Cadet of the year, Mr. Kwesi Botchway.
Together with his fellow officers, Cadet Botchway passed out from the parade with the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police.
After the parade, Colonel Acheampong delivered a formal address to the assembled cadets. He warned them of the serious responsibilities they would be undertaking, especially in their fight against the economic criminals in Ghana's society -- the hoarders, profiteers and smugglers.
