- Story Text: At least 2,000 people rallied in Pakistan's business capital, Karachi, on Friday (March 15), protesting at what they believed was a United States (US) conspiracy against Moslems.
Organised by the right-wing, Jamat-i-Islami party, the demonstration marked what was called American Condemnation Day.
Protestors denounced friends of the United States as traitors.
The Secretary-General of the Islamic Democratic Alliance and deputy leader of Jamat-i-Islami, Professor Ghaffor, told the demonstrators that US military might was the biggest danger to humanity today. He said the Gulf war, with thousands of innocent citizens killed, had proved that. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
