    More opposition politicians were reportedly detained in Paraguay on February 11 - the last official day of campaigning for the country's upcoming presidential election.President General Alfredo Stroessner held a final campaign rally before 100,000 supporters in the main Plaza of Asuncion, the capital.He promised to save Paraguay from 'International communism' and denounced his critics as 'Pseudo-Democrats'.The United States (US), the Roman Catholic Church and dissidents in Paraguay have urged the 75-year-old President to adopt democratic reforms.Stroessner, the armed forces commander, has ruled Paraguay for 33 years and many of his political opponents have called for a boycott of the presidential election on February 14.They say Stroessner and his Colorado Party are bound to win 90 per cent of the vote.Police prevented leading opposition politician Domingo Laino from leaving his house on February 10 and 11 and a Catholic radio station said that six other opposition politicians were detained on February 11.Dozens of opposition activists have been detained in recent weeks, mostly during protest marches calling for an electoral
    boycott.
