  • Story Text: Ferhat Abbas, Premier of the "Algerian Provisional Government", received a warm welcome in Colombo, Ceylon, Feb 1, during his tour of Asian countries to obtain material and moral support for the Algerian Nationalists.

    M.Abbas has already visited Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaya, among other countries.

    Several thousand people attended a meeting supporting M.Abbas. Among speakers were Health Minister of Ceylon, A.P.Jayasurya; a Buddhist monk; ex-Premier Dudley Senanayake; and Leftist Leader in the opposition,Dr. Colvin R. de Silva
