- Story Text: Over five-thousand people took part in marches and rallies in London on Sunday (31 October) to protest against internment in Northern Ireland.
In Hyde Park, demonstrators listened to speeches from people claiming to be members of the Provisional Irish Republican Army, the I.R.A. Later, with the Irish Republic's tricolour flag in the procession, the demonstrators marched past Downing Street, home of Britain's Prime Minister Edward Heath.
Many of the marchers carried banners and placards condemning British policy in Northern Ireland. At another rally on the same theme, demonstrators were addressed by Bernadette Devlin.
